What is this blog about? In a nutshell: connecting artists with art lovers.
I like art but I have always found it very difficult to find artists whose work I really like. Most art websites have way too much content (like Zatista.com and 20×200.com). I get their approach… art is personal and what one person likes will likely be different from what another person likes, so the more variety the better. But a website with 20,000 images is pretty worthless to me. I don’t want to have to search through 50 pages of art to find one piece that I like.
So this blog is about creating a manageable list of artists whose work I like and hopefully I can give them a little bit of exposure. I make and sell art myself and I know how hard it is to get seen. I believe (I have to believe) that there are tons of people out there who like art and might even consider buying some if the process weren’t so daunting. With that, this blog was born.
And while I’m at it I’ll include some tips for buying and displaying art. A lot of people are hesitant to purchase art for their home. Buying art doesn’t (shouldn’t) make you pretentious. Buying art doesn’t (shouldn’t) empty your bank account either. Buying art, owning art, and getting to look at art every day in your home is a wonderful thing. Maybe I can help a few people make that happen.
So I hope you enjoy! And let me know what you think in the comments.
